Under the leadership of National Black Nurses Association; Central Florida Black Nurses Association, Inc. started the Mini Nurse Academy in 2022. Mini Nurse Academy will target students 3rd-6th grade and follow them through high school. The goal is to educate the youth on nursing and healthcare occupations at an early age. In Mini Nurse Academy students gained knowledge related to hand hygiene, obesity, hypertension, and diabetes. Students were taught to identify body organs and their functions. Students were able to perform return demonstration on "compression only" CPR for infants and adults. Parents, school board members, and fellow CFBNA members came out to support the initiative and the students today.
